A Residential Studio that Celebrates Creativity and Craftsmanship

The design of Star Studio, a collaboration between Rey Architectural Design, Kate Nelson Interiors, and others, brings an artist’s vision to life. Combining timber-framed elements with more traditional volumes, careful color selection, varied textures, and abundant light, every detail of this home was intentionally selected to inspire creativity.

Like many of our projects, this one relied heavily on the expertise of our wood shop. The custom kitchen contrasts a carefully selected Mondrian-esque color palette with the deep richness of walnut and includes floating shelves and a spacious pantry. Furniture-style cabinetry in the walk-in closet features shelves, drawers, and hanging storage in classic walnut, while other areas of the home embrace paint-finished built-ins with stone counter alcoves. From railing to window seats, this house invites playful creativity, artistic expression, and welcome nooks for quiet reflection..
