Mass Timber Airplane Hangar in the Pacific Northwest

Precision, Sustainability, and Speed in Aviation Construction

Completed in just five months, this project showcases what’s possible when sustainability and precision align. By prefabricating elements off-site, Silver Maple Aviation minimized waste and maximized efficiency, delivering a beautiful mass timber airplane hangar to a remote island in the Pacific Northwest.

The result is a structure that enhances operational performance while setting a new standard for aviation infrastructure. From concept to completion, Silver Maple Aviation transformed a rustic island airfield into a fully functioning aviation hub complete with a 3,000-foot paved runway and hangars built to withstand the Pacific Northwest’s elements.

Fast Airplane Hangar Construction with Lasting Impact

At Silver Maple, sustainability doesn’t mean sacrificing speed. This project demonstrates how our aviation division combines the precision of our residential craftsmanship with the scale and efficiency of industrial infrastructure. For this project, we streamlined the process from FAA coordination to barge logistics, providing a true “easy button” for airport infrastructure, as featured in Business Aviation Insider.

In just five months, our Vermont-based team coordinated design, fabrication, and delivery across the continent. Every wall panel, beam, and finish was precision-built off-site and shipped, streamlining logistics and minimizing environmental impact. Silver Maple delivered both flexibility and sustainability in every timber beam.
