Throughout 3 distinct phases, Silver Maple worked with the homeowners on lakeside renovations that converted a perfectly charming house into an exquisitely welcoming home. Guided by the desire to create a home where their children and extended family could gather and create lasting memories on the shores of Lake Champlain, the renovation focused on enhancing the space to reflect the homeowner’s lifestyle while ensuring it could comfortably embrace a growing crowd.

The project began by transforming the unfinished basement into a cozy, multi-functional area, moved through the primary level and lakeside landscaping, and finished by incorporating the attic into the conditioned envelope of the house.

Maximizing Every Need With Lakeside Renovations

The completed lakeside renovations included several key spaces that provide comfort, entertainment, and functionality for immediate family and guests.

The lower level, previously one unfinished concrete room, now features a thoughtfully incorporated separate entrance, a bunk room with trundle beds for additional guests, a quiet, dedicated office for work or study, an expansive media room with a kitchenette, and a clever bathroom zone that maximizes function and comfort.

The home’s lakeside was modified to increase access with steps sculpted into the lawn, stone walls to create protected seating and storage areas, and a dock. All of these improvements create opportunities to take advantage of the lake’s natural beauty.
The third level’s re-imagination features skylights that frame impressive views and let in abundant light. Additional offices, bedrooms, bathrooms, and a room that invites gaming ensures that every family member and guest will be provided welcome space to visit, work, and play.
